David Wright

David Wright has been a professional furniture maker since 1986, primarily making traditional Windsor chairs. For more than 20 years, he resided and worked in the well-known woodworking town of Berea, KY. David has since moved to Maine to make high-end Windsor chairs. Additionally, he is involved with a restoration company, fulfilling their wood-turning needs. He has been featured most notably by Fine Woodworking, Home Furniture, Woodwork, and American Woodturner. David’s chairs are in many private collections and have been shown in gallery exhibitions throughout the U.S. He has taught Windsor chair making over the past 35 years to numerous woodworking organizations, conducted individual instruction, and headed a college furniture-design program. Additionally, David has been involved with the Society of American Period Furniture Makers, as an exhibiting member of the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program, Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, and the Southern Highland Craft Guild.
