Timna Tarr comes from a long line of quilters but did not begin quilting until after studying art history in college. She bought her first longarm in 2001 and started quilting quilts for customers shortly thereafter. Timna’s quilts have won awards in traditional and modern categories at shows such as the International Quilt Festival, QuiltCon and Road to California. Timna has been a guest on The Quilt Show and Quilting Arts TV and her quilts have been featured in national and international publications. Her works can be found in both private and corporate collections. Timna is an in-demand teacher and speaker. She lives in Western Massachusetts with her husband and teenage daughter.

A special note about our photos:

We have taken HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of photos over the years of our students, instructors, and staff — during classes, after classes, and at various gatherings. Throughout this brochure and on our website, you will see many photos that were taken prior to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Images of people without masks or not practicing social distancing were taken before the pandemic and before the safety practices were implemented. Please rest assured, we follow all of the safety precautions and guidelines mandated by our local and state health officials. Community means everything to us —we aim to provide a safe environment for all who teach and learn at MASW.
