Mike Van Koevering
About this Craftsperson
Mike Van Koevering has over twenty-five years of expertise in the animal health industry, as a Ph.D. nutritionist, researcher, and innovation team leader. His professional dedication is balanced by a passion for woodworking—a craft deeply rooted in his family history. His early years were filled with shop classes and hands-on carpentry projects on the family farm. While college and his career initially put his hobby on hold, Mike later rediscovered his love for working with wood through turning. Since moving to Indianapolis in 2006, he has further refined his woodturning skills by learning from esteemed instructors like Michael Hosaluk, Glenn Lucas, Mike Mahoney, Matthew Hill, and others at Marc Adams School of Woodworking. This new artistic outlet ignited a creative side, allowing him to merge techniques he has learned and diverse ideas into unique pieces with his own personal touch.
