Burt Murphy

About this Craftsperson

Burt Murphy has been shaping molten glass since age 12, learning the art of lampworking alongside his father, master glassblower Ron Murphy. With more than 38 years of experience, Burt blends traditional skills with modern creativity, producing ocean-inspired jewelry and sculptures that capture both motion and color. He has worked professionally at Disney’s Arribas Brothers in Disney World and runs his own studio, Glassnfire Ventures. Burt’s classes focus on more than technique—he teaches students how to harness creativity, gain confidence, and bring their own style into the flame. Known for his approachable and enthusiastic teaching style, he has guided beginners and advanced students alike. At the Marc Adams School, Burt is excited to share his passion for turning glass and fire into expressive, one-of-a-kind art, continuing the school’s tradition of inspiring hands-on craftsmanship.
