Tim Drier

About this Craftsperson

Tim Drier is a research scientific glassblower who has been in the industry for 40+ years. Since retirement, he has been combining his love of scientific glassware with drinkware possibilities. Barware—imagined—has become the passion of his recent glass work. Picking up glass flameworking from his father at a young age and attending Salem Community College’s Scientific Glass program, Tim is well versed in a full range of techniques in artistic and scientific glass flameworking/blowing styles. Teaching flameworking summer intensive classes at the Corning Museum of Glass and the Pittsburgh Glass Center has helped him refine a curriculum suited for teaching beginners as well as advanced techniques in glass.
