Scott Dillion
About this Craftsperson
Scott Dillion, a middle school technology teacher of 28 years, believes “hands on = minds on” when teaching his students. Scott has taught several parent–child classes over the years. He loves teaching his longboard and hovercraft classes the best. This year will be the first-ever CNC chairmaking class that MASW has offered, and one that has evolved with the times in Scott’s teaching career. The children will use a computer to create a unique design, then use a CNC machine to assist with the carving of these designs. Scott has had over 2,500 students make these amazing wooden creations. The best thing is that no two chairs have ever been the same. Current and former students frequently say, “My mom or dad still has the chair I made when I was in 8th grade.” No matter what, these chairs will not wear out.
