JULIE DHONDT is a graphic designer, print maker and watercolor painter. She received a BA in Visual Communications and Photography from Purdue University and practiced as a professional graphic artist for many years. After being invited to teach a Typography course at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, she fell in love with the classroom experience and the interaction with students. Julie returned to school and achieved an MFA in Graphic Art from Indiana University, Bloomington. She continued teaching at Ivy Tech, Indiana University and Franklin College, enjoying every minute. Julie and her husband found the wooded property of their dreams in south central Indiana nestled in the Hoosier National Forest. She made the decision to leave teaching and pursue her own creative endeavors. Julie splits her time between watercolor painting, print making and wandering in the woods. Her work reflects her passion for the natural world. Julie says, “She is surrounded by a lifetime of inspiration.”
