John D’Amico
About this Craftsperson
John D’Amico is a retired general contractor who has been passionate about woodworking since age nine. A friend’s father, a hobbyist woodworker, introduced John to his shop, where he learned to use tools, which started him on his lifelong woodworking journey. He honed his skills through woodshop classes in junior high and high school, tackling numerous projects over the years while constantly exploring new techniques. Since 2006, John has attended MASW and has completed over 30 classes, as well as assisted in others, completing the Master’s Program and now pursuing the Michael Fortune Fellowship. The school has provided incredible memories and lessons from some of the world’s finest woodworkers. John now teaches at an adult woodworking school and is enjoying every minute. The ever-evolving environment at MASW keeps him inspired, and he’s thrilled to be part of its community, always striving for continuous improvement in the craft.
