Workshop Description

During this five-day class, Tom will share techniques, lessons learned, fixing mistakes, and tricks to build a successful project. He will cover design techniques that allow students to go beyond simple patterns by providing an overview of using design software to create vessels that have pleasing form and patterns. Time will be spent on cutting and gluing jigs, but the majority of the week will involve Tom supervising students in the “hands-on” building of the segmented bowl. The material cost will cover the wood needed, and the special tool cost is for the use of a gluing jig during the week. Tom will provide exotic wood for students’ projects.
