Workshop Description
Spend a week at the lathe with Jennifer and immerse yourself in the art of woodturning. Whether you are brand new to the craft or an experienced turner looking to refine your skills, this class offers something for everyone. With over 26 years of experience, Jennifer will guide students through both the fundamentals and the creative possibilities of turning, helping everyone gain confidence while also developing their own personal style. Over the course of the week, participants will create a variety of projects, including small dishes, bowls, flower holders, and votive candle holders-each one an opportunity to practice key turning techniques. Students will learn how to add their own unique touches using milk paints, acrylics, texturing tools, and woodburning. Along the way, Jennifer will emphasize safety at the lathe and grinder, demonstrate sharpening methods, and show how to size fittings like flower frogs and votive glass holders with precision. Finishing techniques will also be covered, from utilitarian options to food-safe finishes that make your work both functional and beautiful. This weeklong workshop blends technique, design, and creativity for a fun and rewarding experience. Students will leave with a collection of finished projects and the skills to continue exploring woodturning with confidence.
