Workshop Description
Join Jeff and Steve for a hands-on, two-day workshop while exploring the distinctive features of furniture from various historical periods. Students will learn traditional joinery techniques and the refined details that define each era. While core joinery methods remain consistent across time, each period introduces unique embellishments that reflect evolving styles and influences. Through practical exercises, students will sharpen their construction skills and discover how to incorporate these enhancements into their own work. From turning square forms into elegant curves to dimensional shaping that transforms function into art, this class highlights how small changes can have a big impact. Jeff and Steve will discuss how each period builds upon its predecessors, revisiting and refining techniques to suit modern tastes. This is more than a history lesson-it’s an immersive journey into the evolution of furniture design.
