Workshop Description
Students will work with thick veneer to create a cracked ice mosaic pattern, a motif seen widely in Chinese design. This geometric pattern utilizes the chatoyancy of figured maple. Pieces are placed with the grain running at different angles, creating a pattern that changes as you move around it. Pieces shift from light to dark as you change your viewpoint, creating a surface with movement and depth.
