Shaper Origin 101: Everything You Need to Know to Get Started
with Erik Curtis
$565
$550 tuition + $15 material fee
Workshop Description
Many woodworkers look at the Shaper Origin and assume it’s too complicated. It’s easier than expected, and with a weekend of instruction, it becomes a powerful tool for any shop. In this hands-on class, instructor Erik introduces students to the Shaper Origin, demonstrating what it is, how it works, and how it can be integrated into a woodworking workflow. Instruction begins with basic layout and operations, then progresses to practical applications such as cutting mortise-and-tenon joinery, creating precise inlays, and installing hardware with accuracy. Participants are encouraged to bring their own Origin, though a limited number of machines will be available to share. By the end of the weekend, students will have a clear understanding of how and when to use the Shaper Origin, along with the confidence to apply it effectively in their own shops.
