with Barry Gross
$550
$150 material fee payable to Barry
Workshop Description
In this fun and fast-paced weekend workshop, students transform small projects into big rewards. Using channel ring cores, participants craft striking inlay rings with crushed stone, abalone shell, or even reclaimed watch parts for a one-of-a-kind design. Beyond rings, the class explores additional projects such as key chains, mini pens, and hobby knives-crafted on a mandrel with materials including acrylics and stabilized wood, all finished with a quick and durable CA glue polish. Along the way, students build confidence in the fundamentals of lathe work while experimenting with techniques accessible to beginners yet engaging for experienced turners. With expert instruction and plenty of hands-on practice, everyone leaves with finished projects to wear, use, or gift-plus the skills to continue creating long after class.
