In this weeklong workshop, participants will craft a custom leather backpack from start to finish. The class begins with an introduction to different types of leather and their uses, followed by hands-on work in pattern layout and cutting. Students will gain extensive time on sewing machines and bell knife skivers while building padded shoulder straps, adding a body zipper, and constructing functional pockets. By the end of the week, each participant will leave with a durable, beautifully finished leather backpack, an heirloom-quality piece to carry and enjoy for years to come.
