Have you ever wanted to color with thread? In this class, students will do just that! In this two-day weekend workshop, participants will learn the basics of thread painting, stitching on tulle fabric, and stumpwork embroidery to create a pair of botanical earrings. No matter if you’re an experienced embroiderer or new to stitching, in this class, students will practice stitches needed to thread paint and create 3D earrings. Then they can either stitch a pair of ginkgo earrings or design their own botanical-themed pair. Along with hands-on guidance, participants will also receive a copy of Melissa’s book, 3D Botanical Embroidery & Stumpwork, as a take-home guide for continuing their embroidery journey to creating wearable and 3D embroidery.
