Workshop Description

In this weeklong course, students expand their skills in working with borosilicate glass through a series of engaging projects. From making small marbles and animals to shaping hollow bottles, participants build on foundational techniques for manipulating and adding hot glass in the flame. Surface design with colored rods and frit introduces vibrant artistic possibilities, enhancing the clarity of glass with striking patterns and textures. Instruction also covers torch setup and adjustment, as well as essential considerations for designing a safe and effective home studio, including regulators, ventilation, and oven selection. Open to all levels, this class offers both beginners and experienced flame workers the opportunity to broaden their skills and creative potential.
