When entering the great Greene & Greene masterpiece, the Blacker House in Pasadena, people are immediately struck by the outstanding cabinet with carved panels to the right and the very elegant mirror that’s just above it. Though this piece is not very well known, like the famous Blacker Chairs, it’s a wonderful and subtle piece of furniture with perfect proportions and elegant details. The accompanying mirror is just as stunning. It’s just the right size for any home and it blends well in any home décor. This vertical mirror is 38” x 16” and offers a few special challenges. Most notable is a very unusual angled haunched joint at the top that must fit perfectly. It’s challenging and tricky to perfect, but once participants experience how to cut it, they will have a new joint to add to their skill set.
