Workshop Description
Spice up your woodturning skills by exploring two unique methods for creating salt and pepper shakers. In this hands-on class, students will craft their own set using readily available hardware while developing techniques that extend well beyond the project itself. Participants will practice drilling on the lathe, offset turning, geometric layout, and precision measuring with calipers and jigs. The class also delves into design principles such as the Golden Ratio, along with a discussion of finish options and their advantages and drawbacks for functional tableware. By the end of the workshop, each student will leave with a beautiful, functional pair of shakers and a versatile set of woodturning techniques to enrich future projects.
