Over the course of a week, students will create an embroidered landscape with a needle and thread. No matter if you’re an experienced embroiderer or new to stitching, in this class you’ll learn helpful foundational skills for hand embroidery, how to create a wide variety of textural stitches, and compositional techniques. Building off these skills, students will then design a unique landscape. Landscapes can be imaginary or inspired by images brought from home. Along with hands-on guidance, participants will also receive a copy of Melissa’s book, How to Embroider Texture and Pattern, as a take-home guide for continuing their embroidery journey to creating textural embroidered landscapes.
