Workshop Description
The skew chisel is the MOST challenging tool for woodturning. Many turners avoid using the skew due to its ability to quickly spoil work if presented wrongly. In this exceptional class, Alan will challenge you to use only one tool all week: the skew chisel. After learning to produce “scary sharp” edges, Alan will take you through at least ten different cuts with this versatile tool. Following that, the class will begin to make a variety of items that reinforce the different cuts. These projects will include at least six of the following items: tool handle, eggs, door stop, spinning top, stick pen, short table leg, off-set leg, and finial. This workshop has always sold out in past years and will undoubtedly fill up quickly again this year-so make sure you sign up early. Class motto: NOLI TIMERE, Latin for do not be afraid.
