In this five-day immersive class, students will learn the techniques that bring green wood to life. From mounting to shaping, hollowing to carving, each step builds confidence and control-participants can create vessels that feel intentional, elegant, and uniquely original. This class is built for hands-on learning, creative exploration, and real growth. Students will leave with a deeper understanding of how green wood behaves, along with new techniques for hollowing and embellishment that expand their skillset. More than that, students will gain the confidence to tackle complex forms and the insight to shape pieces that reflect their evolving style and vision as a woodturner. There is no pressure to finish a piece-this class is all about personal growth. Participants will take home any unfinished vessels to dry and carve at their own pace. Guided by Tim, Emmy-winning host and seasoned woodturning educator, students will learn in a supportive, engaging environment. His clear instruction and approachable style make complex techniques feel doable-and fun. PLUS, if you don’t have your own hollowing system, no problem. Tim will provide an Elbo 2 Hollowing System for every student to use-completely free. If you do have a system you prefer, feel free to bring it along.
