Workshop Description
In this immersive weeklong course, students explore the captivating art of flameworking through a wide range of techniques using borosilicate glass rods and hollow tubing. With an emphasis on torch proficiency and foundational skills, participants gain hands-on experience working with clear glass, colored rods, frit, and shimmering dichroic glass. Through a series of guided projects, students practice and refine their techniques before progressing to more complex constructions as the week unfolds. Class discussions also cover the essentials of setting up a safe and efficient home studio-including design, equipment, and ventilation-ensuring that participants leave ready to continue their practice beyond class.
