What can you turn a board 2 inches thick by 12 feet long into? The choices are endless! Students will start by looking at some examples and then brainstorm several ideas. After students have designed their ideas on paper, it will be time to learn how to design on the computer using VCarve Pro. If you’re not an artist, don’t worry, because the internet will help participants find the design they want to put on their chair. Next, Scott will teach the basics of how to operate the CNC Shark using G-code. The CNC Shark will do its magic by carving your design into the back of the chair. After that, it will be time for hands-on experiences of cutting, filing, sanding, painting, and applying finish to the chair. Finally, it will be time to sit and relax in your custom creation.
