Emil Pelech

About this Craftsperson

Emil Pelech would spend time with his brother in their father’s workshop making various objects. In high school he started carving, which continued through college and medical school—often carving to take a break from studying. Emil has not limited his woodworking just to carving but is also a master furniture maker with a preference for the 18th-century period. The furniture in its construction may require carving, veneering, and inlay. In the late 1990s he started taking workshops at MASW, and in 2007 he completed his master’s. Since then, Emil and his wife, Nancy, have attended dozens of workshops at MASW and are two of our greatest supporters. Emil’s work is on display in two of the MASW gallery collection cases.
