Turning & Working Pewter with Nick Agar April 9 - 10, 2022

about this workshop

In this class students will learn how to cast and turn pewter. Nick will show how to turn small items from wood, like boxes or containers with lids, then how to adorn them with pewter finials. Students will insert small feet, small pewter buttons or pewter medallions that will be cast and turned on the lathe. The casting of pewter will be done in molds that will be made during the class. Students will work with lead free pewter ONLY. This will be the first pewter workshop offered at MASW.

Instruction Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm (EST)
Note: During the work week, the shop remains open after 6:00 p.m. for handwork, design, research, catch-up work and socializing.
