Over the years, Jeff has explored, developed, refined, and rediscovered numerous ways to make the mortise and tenon joint easier and more precise. The resulting techniques, tricks and jigs will make cutting mortise and tenon joints by hand a quick and very accurate way to work. Students will build a handful of simple and useful jigs that will help cut perfect tenon cheeks, cut flawless tenon shoulders, pare mortises to perfection, and much more. These techniques minimize the time needed to layout the joinery. And Jeff’s techniques will help students learn how to fit their joints the way they need to fit; tight with great strength. He will also cover ways to refine the jigs and tools for even more versatile work, including how to cut angled mortises and tenons and the basics of sawing tenons and chopping out mortises. All this plus a GREAT take home fixture.
There is an annual, nonrefundable registration fee of $45.
This registration fee is not a part of the class fee and is not deducted from the final balance due. This is the financial binding that locks you into the class and starts the registration process. This fee does not apply to students who only take one single day workshop.
