about this workshop
This class is about understanding, tuning, and using the spokeshave: Particularly the Record 151 and/or the Record A151. These particular spokeshaves are the most beautifully designed ergonomic and geometrically practical of any tool in a woodworker’s collection. After tuning the tool and learning how to sharpen the blade, Stephen will demonstrate why and how it is used to create true and accurate concave and convex forms. Each student will make a simple geometric form that utilizes the abilities of the tool.
