Have you ever wondered how to make your own puzzle? If so, then this is the class for you. This hands-on two-day session will look at a variety of ways to make wooden puzzles ranging from traditional jigsaw puzzles, 3D standing puzzles and mixed wood puzzles using a scroll saw. Marc will discuss how to choose the right wood for your puzzle, overview of scroll saw operation and safety tips, saw blade selection, techniques of applying an image to wood, several processes of cutting wood into puzzles and finally a wrap up on ways to finish and seal the final puzzle. This class is perfect for an individual or for a parent/child combination and for all skill levels with a scroll saw.

*Discussion of scroll saw operation and safety related to puzzle making
*Hands-on experience cutting traditional and irregular jigsaw puzzles using a scroll saw
*Practice cutting and designing 3D standing puzzles
*Demonstrations of making raised piece puzzles
*Making mixed wood puzzles, veneer puzzles and standing hardwood puzzles
*Discussion and demonstrations on image adhesion and finishing techniques

Workshop Days: Saturday & Sunday
Instruction Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm (EST)
Note: During the work week, the shop remains open after 6:00 p.m. for handwork, design, research, catch-up work and socializing.
