about this workshop
In this class students will learn the basic steps for making an American Flag paper sculpture. The class will focus on basic techniques involved in making a flag that can also be applied to any flag, such as your state flag. Students will work on a design of a flag provided by Jeff. This beginner class for paper sculpture will introduce techniques such as cutting, scoring, curving and mounting the paper sculpture. By the conclusion of Sunday, each student will have a completed American Flag mounted on a simple background ready for display.

Key Points:
*Draw and create a blueprint design for the American Flag
*Transfer design onto paper
*Use appropriate cutting techniques
*Bend and curve paper to create illusion of dimension
*Glue and mount the flag to a background
*Complete paper sculpture for display
Workshop Days: Saturday & Sunday
Instruction Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm (EST)
Note: During the work week, the shop remains open after 6:00 p.m. for handwork, design, research, catch-up work and socializing.
