An opportunity to explore the exciting–and often overlooked– area of turning plates and platters. Participants will come to understand wood selection, mounting options, forms, tool selection, adding details and finishing options. Each student will have the time to execute between two and four pieces during the weekend. Alan will be sure to have many examples on hand to inspire and challenge. Previous experience with face-grain bowl (or of course, plate or platter) turning is necessary.
