More Information on this Workshop

Michael Fortune has been described as a “jig master” and recently “bandsaw wizard.” His workshop walls are covered with jigs that he regularly uses. He also reproduces a number of his designs using a series of specially fabricated sequential jigs in combination with illustrated instructions kept in a series of storage boxes. In this two-day special workshop, Michael will share with students how to construct the critical jigs for his world renowned #1 Chair. All of the parts of the chair are three-dimensional circles. The jigs students build will simplify the joinery process and assure perfect results when assembling the #1 Chair. Michael will expand on the process he uses for working with circled elements whether in chairs, tables or cabinets. This class is only open for students who are taking, or have taken, Michael’s #1 Chair class.
