Barry will make everyone feel comfortable making a “kitless” pen in this workshop. An overview of what tools are necessary to make kitless pens will be demonstrated and discussed. He will then demonstrate how to make a kitless pen from beginning to end, step by step. The students will learn the techniques on how best to square, drill, tap and make the threads for a kitless pen. Barry will show how to use the different mandrels to achieve a smooth fit for your pen. Turning tool techniques and which turning tools are the best for each student will be discussed and demonstrated. Each student will make one kitless pen while having FUN!
