In this workshop students will build a Morley Lounge Chair. This lounge chair was heavily influenced by the Mid-Century modern aesthetics which is where its iconic shape is derived from. Philip designed this chair to be comfortable as well as a way to make a statement in any home. Just as important, it is grounded in traditional joinery making it a piece built with integrity. Students in the class will learn various joinery techniques, the importance of reference face, accurate layout and measurement, how to utilize templates and reference for pattern routing. They will also learn the importance of how to treat edging and to add subtle style to their next furniture pieces.
