about this workshop
This is a very comfortable chair equally inside at home or outdoors in a Florida sun room. It is easy to get in and out of and perfect for a nap or reading – both from personal experience! The series of intersecting laminated curves might make this look like a daunting task but it is quite simple once the proper patterns and jigs are made. With good jigs, it’s easy to make one, two or any number of these beautiful garden chairs. Lamination techniques, pattern making, jig construction and simple joinery will be demonstrated throughout the week which will show ways to make this chair infinitely reproducible. Students will also make a complimentary ottoman, not covered in any magazine. So jump out of the mundane, everyday Adirondack style chair and hop on this curvaceous and functional (comfy) garden sculpture!
