More Information on this Workshop

Last year Chris did a two-day laser class which sold out. This year he is expanding that weekend class into a full week workshop, which will allow more time to play and explore all the possibilities a laser can add to your work. As lasers continue to find their way into more maker’s shops across America, now might be a good time to check out what all the excitement is about. Chris has been tinkering with lasers for almost two decades and will share his experiences, both successes and failures, with the class. Students will explore the cutting and/or engraving of material such as wood, leather, stone, paper, and plastic. Chris will begin with, but not dwell on, the basics of design software as it pertains to the laser. Students will be exposed to all kinds of basic and advanced laser projects including both 2D and 3D projects like marquetry pictures, multilayer plaques and custom laser containers (boxes). This workshop will give everyone the experience needed to take their current laser capabilities to the next level or answer all your questions about lasers just in case you are ready to make the plunge into purchasing a new machine. This is not a sales pitch, Chris does not work for or endorse any specific laser company, so come and see through the smoke and beyond the mirrors of a CO2 laser.
