The “Guitar Building Methods 1” class is a unique opportunity to make your own guitar building jigs and fixtures. After completing the fixtures, students will use them to make actual guitar parts. This class provides a rare opportunity to learn lutherie methods that are typically only learned through a hard-to-come-by luthier apprenticeship. This first methods class “Guitar Building Methods 1” will focus on jigs and fixtures for building an acoustic guitar body. Students will build their own side bending machine, a side bending form, a radius sanding bowl, a guitar building form (shape of the students choice), and a plate joining fixture. John will demonstrate all of the jigs and fixtures, as well as showing a variety of alternate methods. For information on the July 20-21 Guitar Building Methods 2, click here
