Description

This class is open to anyone between the ages of 13 to 19. Mich will help students tweak their tool techniques as well as enhance both hand tool and machining skills. Students will learn through building a storage chest that can be used for keepsakes, electronics, games, tools or as a hope chest. Tool safety, design, layout, wood movement, drawer construction, joinery and jigs/fixtures will be covered. Students will complete the week with a deeper understanding of the construction process and the confidence that will make their future woodworking experiences more efficient and enjoyable. Mich is a high school shop teacher from Canada who coached one of her students to win the World Skill Competition.
