More Information on this Workshop

The focus of this class will be functional woodturning with an emphasis on chucking, sharpening and tool techniques. Rex will share the tips and tricks that he learned over the last 30 years of working with and studying under the best turners of modern time. During the week students will turn bowls, plates, platters, bud vases, pepper mills, rolling pins, lidded spice bowls, goblets, and other production items. All these projects are geared to help students develop and even test their skills. Harvesting wood and turning green (wet woodturning) wood will be explored in depth to give students the knowledge to produce their own turning blanks. He will also discuss tools, supplies and machines necessary to attain the best results and achieve individual woodturning goals. Rex will consider the class a success, not by quality and quantity of the bowls students take home, but by the knowledge and skills they will gain during the week, all geared at making students better turners.
