In this weekend workshop each student will build a box with an inlaid top. Students will only be using a CNC machine for all processes involved in making the box (and perhaps some sandpaper). This hands-on two day workshop will show students how helpful a CNC machine can be in their woodshop. Students will be going through the fundamentals of using a CNC machine, but at the same time creating a decorative box to take home. Students will be required to bring two boards that only need to planed and jointed on one side each. The CNC machine will take care of creating parallel finishes on the other sides. Next, students will work on the joints of the sides and after milling the top will do a VCarved inlay. For students who own a copy of VCarve Pro, you are welcome to bring your laptop to work on your own design. For everybody else, there will be different designs available. After assembly, the students will use the CNC to set the hinges.
There is an annual, nonrefundable registration fee of $45.
This registration fee is not a part of the class fee and is not deducted from the final balance due. This is the financial binding that locks you into the class and starts the registration process. This fee does not apply to students who only take one single day workshop.
