Build a Curved Veneered Cabinet Door with Owain Harris May 21 - 22, 2022

about this workshop

Adding curves to any cabinetry project can take one’s work to a whole new level. In this two-day workshop students will explore the techniques required to build a bent laminated cabinet door. Owain will start with a discussion of the materials used in wide-panel laminating including the material for the form as well as the core material for the door. Students will make a curved form that will be used to glue up their door. Once the door body is pressed, Owain will demonstrate ways to edge the sides and surface treatments for the face using solid wood and decorative veneer layups. There will be a discussion and demonstration of hardware choice and how to install this hardware on curved doors.
