This class is based on improving the understanding and application of the most effective way to cut side grain wooden bowls. Stuart will be teaching his style of “Push Cut” on both the interior and exterior of the bowl. Everyone who takes the class learns to cut any wood with zero torn grain and with very little physical effort. Every cut is broken down into comprehensive steps, so that anyone can learn and perfect these cuts. Students learn to free hand grind gouges. Stuart also teaches his “Negative Rake Scraping” technique in the class, as a support technique to the “Push Cut”. Each student turns several bowls a day to both rough cut thickness and thin pieces.
There is an annual, nonrefundable registration fee of $45.
This registration fee is not a part of the class fee and is not deducted from the final balance due. This is the financial binding that locks you into the class and starts the registration process. This fee does not apply to students who only take one single day workshop.
