Larger veneer panels with decorative veneer or marquetry embellishments have always been a challenging undertaking for both the experienced or novice woodworker. Paul will explore the ways to plan, create, glue-up and handle bigger veneer projects. Sometimes these large veneer projects can exceed the size of one’s scroll saw, straight edges, cutting mats, or even a large veneer press. Students will learn the theory of applying larger sized veneer patterns onto flat or curved surfaces successfully. These techniques can be applied to any veneered cabinet or furniture project which opens up a new way of thinking and working big. These large panels could be used for a table top, cabinet front or a curved artwork project that could be displayed on a wall. It will be a great opportunity to see and learn how Paul does this innovative, and sometimes cumbersome and stressful work with great results.
