This fun filled week long workshop will focus on using the natural flexible properties of wood to create a simple yet complex elegant hollow form without the use of steam. Stephen will demonstrate ways to make the box, how to separate the lid from the base and then how to relocate and align those pieces so they match perfectly. The skills and techniques Stephen will show can be valuable lessons applicable to a wide arena of furniture making. Simultaneously there are multitude of possibilities for decoration and adornment to personalize each box. Throughout the class the necessary tools will be discussed, analyzed and demonstrated to help enable the project. Some students will be able to accomplish several boxes depending on their aptitude and the complexity of the adornment. This simple idea will create options for box making that will make holidays, birthdays and special occasions unforgettable.
There is an annual, nonrefundable registration fee of $45.
This registration fee is not a part of the class fee and is not deducted from the final balance due. This is the financial binding that locks you into the class and starts the registration process. This fee does not apply to students who only take one single day workshop.
