Bonnie Stahlecker

BONNIE STAHLECKER is a prominent workshop instructor in bookbinding and the book arts. She lectures and conducts workshops throughout the United States, leading over 125 professional book workshops since 1987. Her students always marvel over her organizational skills and ability to coordinate the bookbinding steps into easy-to-understand directions. She has taught at Penland School of Craft, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Oregon School of Arts and Crafts, and the Paper and Book Intensive. Bonnie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts and has been a studio artist for over thirty-five years. In 1995 and 2000, she was invited to be an artist-in-residence at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Belgium. She has also been in residence at the Banff Centre, Canada, and the Auvillar Cultural Exchange Program in France. Her work is in numerous public and private collections and has been showcased in many publications including The Penland Book of Handmade Books, and 500 Handmade Books. Bonnie is the recipient of the 1999 and the 2013 Creative Arts Renewal Fellowships.
