PHILIP MORLEY is a custom furniture maker located near Austin, TX where he resides with his four children and wife. Philip was originally trained at age 16 in carpentry and joinery under the City Guilds of London, England. His interest turned to furniture while working alongside a Rhode Island School of Design graduate. Philip quickly fell in love with the precision, craftsmanship, and creativity required in furniture making. After a six year apprentice with master craftsman Michael Colca, he started his own business which he has enjoyed immensely. In addition to building furniture, Philip has been teaching occasional night classes at Austin Community College in the Building Construction Technology Department, teaching Advanced Woodworking. He is very active on Instagram and has just recently begun working on a Podcast focused on woodworking: Woodworkers’ Podcast. Philip has won several awards for his furniture including “Best in Show” at the Texas Furniture Maker’s Show. He is a contributing author to Fine Working magazine and has appeared in several other publications.
