Craftsmanship Across the Board
Tim Foss has enjoyed woodworking his entire life, starting at age twelve when he received a scroll saw for his birthday. Even though he taught High School Business classes for thirty-five years, he would spend his summers doing remodeling work with John, the High School’s shop teacher. Over the last twenty-five years Tim has built a lot of furniture including a nine-foot long, built-in China cabinet for his dining room. Eighteen years ago, he started taking workshops at MASW which included woodworking and woodturning. Tim’s first class was a turning class with David Marks, but one of his favorite instructors was Binh Pho. Today Tim uses the skills that he learned from Binh to make pierced hollowed vessels that he donates to charities or gifts to family and friends including Arnold Palmer.
