Controlling Color with Mitch Kohanek October 22-23, 2022

Learn what it takes to create any color desired by understanding how color works. This class will teach students the artistic side of using coloring agents to enhance any project using any kind of wood. This will require the understanding and utilization of the “Color Wheel”. Benchwork will have students mixing colors together artistically using dyes and pigments (stains). Students will also apply color on top of a color, change the color using glazes, and change the color of any existing coating (toners). All of this leads to predicting and obtaining any color desired. Other issues include understanding color terminology and how to work with primary colors in your dyes, stains, glazes, and toners. This class is for those who want to have control of their color.
