Build an Arts & Crafts Hall Cabinet with Kevin Boyle April 25-29, 2022

An enthusiast of all things Arts & Crafts, Kevin has always enjoyed designing and building furniture in this style. This version of a hall cabinet features a straight-forward approach with cleaner lines and subtle details reminiscent of the style. The design was featured in the September 2018 issue of WOOD Magazine. The original was built from mahogany and resides in his home but the one that appears in the magazine was constructed with classic quartersawn white oak. Most hardwoods would work well with this design. During the week, students will work on mortise and tenon joinery using a combination of machines and hand tools. Kevin will teach the basics of stub tenon and groove joinery as well as working with solid panels including an interesting twist on door construction. Join Kevin for a week of building this original Arts & Crafts cabinet.
