Greg Robbins, MI

Terry Cuff, AZ

"...My experience this summer at your school was no less than spectacular. Of course, now that I’ve raised the bar on what I can do with a piece of wood, I look around at the things I did before and cringe!..."

You make your instructors feel appreciated. I am in awe of you, your furniture, your school and what you have achieved. You should do a tour of the various facilities, you’ll come back to your school and up your tuition!..."

Day dreaming of having time off from work and daily worries, but to be in Franklin in another class...I have only ever experienced professionalism from both of you and the fine staff at the school and this year was no exception. Yes, it is obvious you have spent time on the details in making the school better and they are appreciated..."
John Huempfner, WI

"...Your personal commitment to excellence shows brightly as does your vision for the school. The equipment was excellent and in great shape and the facilities were comfortable and certainly well equipped. I really liked the fact that you recognized the problem all of us had in registering for any of your courses in the past. The April new student month will be a great success for you, Marc, simply because you listened to your customers. I will be back in the future, you can be assured..."
Robert Molenda, MN

"...From all my years in starting up and running businesses, I see that you are doing the right things to be successful. The most important I always found? Having the best people working with you, and you surely have them. Also, the caliber of instructors is amazing. Attending a Marc Adams class is like having the opportunity to work with Michelangelo, Einstein, and Mozart..."

Everyone seems to elevate their abilities, no matter what level they are at. Your enthusiasm and positive approach makes everyone feel confident in what they do, students and instructors alike. I find it a great place to truly unwind and relax..."
John Ressler, IL

"...I continue to be impressed with how much better your school gets each year...we do have choices in woodworking education, and there are schools that are quite a bit closer to my home. But I’ll keep coming back to the cornfields of Indiana. I’m that pleased with the product that you offer...I’ll certainly be back next year..."
Tony Graham, SC

"...As I was driving home I figured my brother and I drove between 1500 and 1750 miles, I was gone for 8 days, worked 5 – 11+ hour days with a 6-hour kicker on Saturday and spent over $1,000... but in fact I had a stupendous time. The school is, as ever, first class!..."
Jim Reid, VA

"...A quick note of thanks for a great time at the dovetail class ...In the few years since I last visited MASW, I had forgotten how truly inspiring your classes are...I can’t wait to come back..."

Anton R. Braun, IN

"...I have attended woodworking classes at the Marc Adams School over the past 4 years and have found them to be an excellent value and have always gone home excited about my hobby... I had the honor of attending the Cindy Stewart’s parent-child scroll saw class with my 8¾ year old grandson. The weekend exceeded my highest expectations. It was exciting to see a youngster go from someone who’s only knowledge of a scroll saw was “that thing in grandpa’s shop” to a child eagerly creating art with minimal supervision. It was fun watching him learn right under my eyes. The highlight of the weekend, however, came hours after we had left the school and returned home. I watched him sit on his living room floor and, under the admiring gaze of his younger brother and sister, show off his treasures and give them gifts he had made for them with his own two hands. The looks on his and their faces... more than justified the cost of the class..."
Herb Thompson, IL

"...I had such a good time at my last class. I cannot wait to come back. You guys are great..."
Andy Schaewe, IN

"...I just wanted to say what a fantastic time I had with you all last week. I loved every second of it... and was on such a roll I felt I could have gone on for ever. I learned so much and acquired so many more skills; your teaching was excellent. Thank you!..."
Charlotte Monmont, MN

"...Your staff is excellent and you truly make it where I look forward to the next opportunity to come to your school and be with friends..."
Skip Schattschneider, OH

"...I love woodworking. I come to MASW because I can’t find anywhere else you can learn so many skills with hand and power tools in such a short time. I get to take classes with some of the most incredible woodworkers alive who share my same passion. When we are doing what we are passionate about, satisfaction is natural. What I see here, is passion and satisfaction going hand in hand. The skills learned here enable me to believe my dream of building furniture can be a reality."
Ric Gunderson. WI

"...Masters in the craft come internationally to the school to share their knowledge and wisdom. I want to learn from the masters in the craft so I don’t have to reinvent the wheel and can eliminate simple mistakes. The Master’s program gives a well rounded basis for someone who knows they want to do woodworking because anyone serious about woodworking, or anything, needs an education. Beyond woodworking, I love meeting people from around the country who also do woodworking and broadening that circle of life’s wisdom through friends. The greatest lesson I have learned is that I have to keep learning. There is such a richness from being a novice and taking advantage of the opportunity to learn."
Gail Hall, MI

"...I come to MASW for the best instructors, super facility, and it is worth the trip because there is nothing else like this school. Coming here has opened up so many opportunities to do things like veneering, inlay, joinery, and I learn the proper use of tools. Joinery has been one of the most beneficial classes for me, and I would recommend it to anyone because it was a good starting point. Marc’s energy, pursuit of excellence, attention to detail, and drive make that class and this school successful. Jeff Jewitt’s finishing class demystified the world of finishing for me. Of course Michael Fortune’s apprentice class helped put everything together by including design, fabrication, assembly, and final finishing. The wealth of techniques he has developed over the years through trial and error which resulted in a successful furniture business and his wonderful ability to teach, gave me confidence and the class success."
Chris Morgan, TX

"...I come to the school for the variety of instructors and students. The students typically have other interesting occupations besides woodworking, and sometimes there are opportunities to meet professional woodworkers with different occupations like architectural woodworking. I come here because of Marc’s integrity because the quality of something always drifts down from a leader. I trust Marc because he isn’t just looking out for himself; he has a passion and wants to help people. He employs good people, and his example trickles down to the students. He keeps me interested by changing/ improving things, offering new classes, and bringing in new instructors. There is a sense of family both with the students and the operations people. You can be new and still feel like a part of the family not an outsider. The teachers have an openness and are willing to share ideas without hiding things for themselves. I come to learn new skills and tricks of the trade. I have a desire to complete the Master’s program because I’m starting my own business, and I need to be set apart from my neighbor’s brother. One reason woodworkers don’t get paid enough is because we’re not certified. Credentials and goals are set through the programs."
Gale Satterlee, MI

"...I come down here for the professional instructors who have years of experience. The best course I took was basic veneering with Paul Schurch. I knew nothing, and he taught me everything I needed to know to go home and do it. Coming to the school has affected my life because when I first started coming here I was only a part time woodworker, and my experiences turned me full time. My experience has been that I learn more in depth techniques which distinguishes my woodworking from others. No other school has a comparable facility or instructors to offer a student."
Cindy Stewart, WI

"...I’ll be coming back even though I completed the Masters. I come to learn a little more about woodworking. The people are unbelievable. There is a great staff, and they are experienced. They are here for the experience, not just a career. Joinery was my favorite course because at the end of the day you are totally wiped out, and you feel like you’ve accomplished something. You learn the different joints: sliding dovetails, lap dovetails, mortise and tenon, etc. Personally, if you can do it by hand then you can really figure out if a fixture or another tool is really necessary. I’m already planning ahead to come back in the future because I want to learn more. Next year I have friends that are going to meet me here for another class."
Louis Aldrich, MI

"...I’ve been attending MASW since the beginning of my woodworking career. Every year I find some class that I feel I can’t get by without taking. It’s not just the level of excellence of the teachers but also the warm feeling of camaraderie of the staff and fellow students. Every year it’s like a homecoming when I venture through the doors of MASW."
Rue Ane Flanders, IN

"...I always have a good time teaching at Marc’s school. The staff and students are very friendly, and the school itself is very well organized. It’s exciting for me as a teacher to meet the other instructors because Marc selects some the finest woodworkers in the country to teach."
David Marks, CA

"...I certainly have been attending the school because the facility gives you an ‘Oh my gosh!’ experience. Marc’s passion for teaching brings me back. The best people in the business further the art by teaching others. It is impressive because the instructors who have so much talent are willing to share their knowledge. I see the instructor’s personal work, and they can teach me to do those things- WOW. Joinery was my favorite class because it was so hands on, and it enabled me to do so much more through hand skills. It made me feel as though I can actually do this, and I can cut dovetails. I enjoyed touching the wood and making things fit together. One of my first thoughts when you mention the school is of appreciation because there is a place where you can learn and be shown how to acquire these skills. The experiences enrich my life because I have confidence from learning more skills, and this enables me to enjoy my hobby more. I know I can do this without wasting a lot of wood, and one day I’m going to do it very well. Most of my time is spent being very technical; I’m a mechanical engineer, which I greatly enjoy. But I still need to have some art in my life too. Woodworking can be both of those things so it really appeals to me... Coming to the school puts me right in the middle of that environment. For that week, I’m a woodworker and nothing else."
Steve Huckaby

"...I started coming here because I was looking for a place to learn woodworking with an emphasis on safety, and Marc’s school fits the bill. Then I discovered that Marc brings the greatest woodworkers here, and it is a great learning environment. You can really count on other people. Everyone is always helpful. The Sculptural Rocking Chair class makes you think outside the box. There is pure learning from beginning to end. You learn joints you’ve never heard of before, tool usage, how to split a three foot rocker on the band saw, and more..."
Art Raczynski, OH

"...I come to the school because it gives me time to woodwork without the family. Actually, it’s like coming to visit family here. There is awesome equipment and staff. I look forward to coming back to see what new thing Marc has added. Kelly Mehler got me started coming here. I looked at the Master’s program and wondered why would I want to do that?! Once I got here and saw the options and possibilities of furniture making and designing through veneering, carving, etc., I understood why. My most valuable lesson learned here is to not be afraid to try new things. The Apprenticeship class with Marc brought together so many areas including design and joinery to create my own piece of furniture so I would consider that to be the most beneficial so far, but I am really enjoying this Guitar class. MASW has become a stress relief for me because I get to come and do something I love with no other distractions. When you say the name of the school, I automatically think, awesome, I can’t wait to come back. A friend of mine down in Atlanta said to me, ‘You don’t have to go off to MASW to learn...’ but when I do, I can sink myself into it. I don’t have to run to the store to get a certain band saw blade for a project, they already have everything. You can spend time with people at the top of their field and learn from them. That is so cool!"
Karen Wilson, GA

"...I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with the school. It’s very revealing to see how the pros really do things. The school facilities and personnel are clearly first-class. A great experience overall!"
Dave Norbury, NC

"...Since I started my own business almost five years ago and have been progressively growing, I have been unable to take many relaxing vacations. I now have a key manager within my company, which really enabled me to concentrate last week on having fun and learning and not worrying about all of the day-to-day issues and our projects. Last week was the most fun I have had in five years. I found myself constantly smiling and really concentrating on all of the challenges that laid ahead of me instead of always thinking about work. Thank you so much for making it fun and at the same time intense..."
John D’Amico, CA

"...After being back home for a week and having time to contemplate my week at MASW, I wanted to drop you a note to say thanks for a marvelous experience. I learned more and accomplished more in those five days than I would have thought possible..."
William Signorini, NC

"...I can’t believe my week at MASW is over already. It was an experience of a lifetime. I’ve told everyone I know about it, and they are all interested in taking a class next year. You have an unbelievable operation going, and I can see why there are so many alumni. I’m glad I can say I’m one of them..."
Dan Judge, IL

"...First let me extend to you my deepest personal thanks for the opportunity to attend your school. I have NEVER had the type of experience that I enjoyed in those five days in your class. The passion and enthusiasm expressed created the best learning environment and the commitment to excellence was expressed by everyone. You have created what some would call a phenomenal organization, dedicated to excellence in woodworking..."
Dennis Pieniazek, IL

"...Thanks again for everything you, Susie, and all of your staff do to make the school such a good learning and personal experience. I have been to four other schools for woodworkers but, until now, have not found one that excites me like yours. Your personal involvement in the school and enthusiasm for what you are doing can be seen in everything. I am impressed with the cleanliness of the shop as well as the quality and abundance of the power and hand tools available for student use. The other schools I have been to start around 8:30 a.m. and usually have cleanup and end the day about 4 or 4:30, maybe 5 p.m. on a good day. The fact that you try to make everything about your school conducive to learning is reflected in your starting classes at 8 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. and then making the key to the shop available so that students can stay in the shop and work 24 hours a day! In my experience this is unheard of. And you even go the second mile to give students more shop time by including a good midday meal so that students do not have to take valuable shop and learning time to leave the school in search of lunch. Of course, the quality of the instructors is absolutely superb. The concentration of knowledge, skill, and talent in you and your teaching staff is enough to make me dizzy with awe and fill me with the excitement and desire to learn more..."
Geary Gaston, AL

"...Thank you for an excellent and most enjoyable week of learning. I can truly say the week was worth the effort. You are a very knowledgeable and excellent teacher..."
Charlie Fiskeaux, KY

"...I know that I am not but feel obligated to thank you for the tremendous experience of attending your school. I have felt for quite some time now that I have needed, both personally and professionally, to expand my woodworking skills beyond what has been self-taught. I researched many different options and knew going in that it would be far beyond the “Woodcraft Workshop,” I just didn’t realize how far beyond. After attending the joinery class, I can now say that I feel that your institution is one of the utmost quality. Not only does MASW truly, truly, truly believe in the craft of woodworking, you make the students (myself included) feel as if they had been there for years and were a part of your family. To learn what I love, from the best that there is, is an experience that is without words..."
Randolph Acton, MI

"...You know how to do everything first-class. You have also surrounded yourself with great people. The more I look back at the class I realize how much I learned. You are really an inspiration to people around you..."
Marc Berner, CA

"...I just wanted to tell each and every one of you that my class experience was over the top! I would (and will) recommend your school to any and all woodworkers. My only complaint is that the week went by way too fast! Your facility is top-notch and your setup first-class! I hope to return many, many times to enjoy future instructors and future classes. Thank you for a wonderful learning experience!"
Sharon Goodwin, FL

"...By the way, I really enjoyed my week at your school and will highly recommend it to my woodworking friends. The school’s physical environment was very pleasant and comfortable to work in. Thank you for all the great hospitality, it was greatly appreciated. Thanks again..."
Don Batten, MI

"...Thank you for the opportunity to teach at your school again. I must say, I do consider it an honor given the quality of your instructors..."

John Montz, LA

"...the Masters program at MASW gave me an excellent foundation in woodworking knowledge and skills across a wide range of specialties. I am grateful for the high-quality facilities, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and great food, in addition to the world-class instructors from whom I’ve had the privilege of learning. Most of all, I greatly value the many friendships formed there, which makes the experience a shared journey of community, not just an individual pursuit..."
Phil Stoner, TN

"...I know you are a busy person, but you need to know how you influence people and how it changes lives and affects all those around us. All I can say is thank you many times over and know that what you teach benefits many..."

"...I am writing a letter of appreciation and gratitude for having the privilege of coming to your school. I know hundreds of people could echo their thankfulness in ways of how they were treated at the school from the food to great instructors but I wanted to share a really personal level of appreciation from my heart and what it means to me..."
Donald Stonecipher, IN

"...the class was great. Very challenging, very rewarding, and one that certainly expanded my boundaries. Thanks to you, your instructors, and your staff for the experiences I’ve had at your school. Wish I had started there 14 years ago..."

"...It was my first time at one of your classes and I must say I was really impressed. You can tell you guys have been doing this for a while. Everything was organized and the facilities were great. I was persuaded to attend by a person who had attended a few classes there and I can see why. I will be back. Just wanted to say good job..."
Larry Stebelton, OH

"...I just wanted to say thank you for making my week at your school the happiest and best time that I have had in years. I had almost forgotten what it was like to be amongst people who share the same passions. And woodworkers rate as the best, and most caring in my book. Thank you all..."
Michael Rogen, NY

"...I just wanted to thank you for the great year. I also wanted to congratulate you on your upcoming 15th anniversary. I can only imagine the work and personal investment that it takes from you, your family, and your staff, but I am grateful for it..."
Scott McCray, VA

"...I realize you get many notes and letters about the fine experiences people have when they attend your school but, I want you to know how much I appreciate your gift of giving. Somewhere along the way you have learned that sharing knowledge and experience is the foundation for building a strong industry and hard work and integrity is the foundation for a strong business. You have been blessed with the ability to teach and create master pieces with your hands however, another important thing you have shared is the great example – It is not what you take with you but, what you leave behind that counts..."
John Huempfner, WI

"...I just returned from a wonderful experience with you. Again, thanks for the vacation of a lifetime and, fantastic meals as well. I must have gained a few pounds..."
Doug Reynolds, WA

"...These were the first classes I have attended at your school. Until someone actually attends, or at least visits, they really don’t have a frame of reference for the total size and capacity of the school. I was extremely impresses with the overall organization and the support afforded both of the classes I attended. My overall experience was fantastic. I will most definitely look forward to attending additional classes in the future..."
Andy Mulina, MO

"...Just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks for the class. This having been the first class that I had taken at such a school, it was nice to be treated with such respect and graciousness, and to leave not only with something physical to take home, but also with such a rewarding memory of the class itself, the instructions, and the people who assisted and taught us..."
Roger Witt, CO

"...I found your school to be top notch and well organized with all up to date equipment. I have changed my way of thinking, planning and especially, safety. You should be very proud of your staff in making my stay and others at your school so enlightening..."
Mark Canfield, KY

"... In the 8 years I have been coming to your school my woodworking skills have gone further than I would ever have imagined but just as important is my awareness of safety. I don’t think you could find a place anywhere with a fully equipped shop, 60 woodworkers buzzing around, and feel as safe at any given time. This is a true reflection of your staff and your commitment to safety. There is never a boring moment at your school during class or after. Your school just keeps getting better year after year, from Susie and her staff making great food, to all the improvements you make to the facility I always wonder how you do it. Thank you for another great week of learning. May God bless you and your family..."
Paul Sayre, PA

"...I’m quite proud to be a part of something that is really great. MASW RULES..."
Joseph Eggersdorfer, IL

"...My sincere compliments go out to you and your staff. Your school lived up to and surpasses all of my expectations. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere, your facilities, the attitudes and professionalism of everyone there, and of course you and the course itself, combined to provide a great experience. You, your family, and your staff, have truly created something special, congratulation and thank you for the experience..."
Greg Hull, MO

"...Thank you all for another incredible year. As always, after attending class at the school I leave with mixed emotions. On one hand, I am sad to be leaving my last class of the year and I know I’ll be anxiously awaiting the coming year and a chance to return. On the other hand, I am rejuvenated, reinvigorated and inspired by the experience and people. I find that there is a feeling of excitement and energy that lingers long after the class has ended and the daily hum-drum of like and work returns. I am always amazed at how long this ‘afterglow’ lasts..."
Mark Hedin, IN

"...Marc, I am sure that you often hear how much the school means to the alumni long after the class is finished. However, I want you to know that in my case it means a lot to me even before class starts. Because my time at MASW is a bright spot that I can look forward to when the ‘less bright’ doldrums of daily work life try to get me down..."
Jeff Skiver, MI

"...Just want to drop you a line to let you know how much I really enjoyed my week. Your facilities are top-notch and your staff is unbelievable! It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to come back..."
Alex Garcia, MO

"...The Marc Adams School has enriched my life so much. Retiring from a career where my hands were so involved to an existence without manual activity would have been a prescription for senescence. I thought woodworking would be the answer, but my feeble attempts to learn the craft from magazines and books were not bearing much fruit. From the first course I took at your school, I knew I had found the answer. I have profited tremendously and have reaped much joy. The camaraderie and sense of family at MASW is equally important."
Don Barnhorst, FL

"I just wanted to take a minute to thank you again for the EXCELLENT leaning opportunity that you present to all of your students. Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge; it makes working with wood very enjoyable."
Wayne Render, IA

Greg Elsner, IN

"...I want to thank you all again for an absolutely wonderful experience at the school. I have been charged, and my vision has been renewed greatly..."
Stephan Toman, NY

"...If I think back to my first class and how adrenalized I was with the entire experience, I realize how much I now assume that MASW is just another part of my woodworking existence each year, and is just part of my life that I expect to happen each spring/summer. We might not remember to thank you for your existence each year, but I would guess that there would be a huge void and lacking in many people’s lives if you didn’t exist. Thanks for improving the quality of my life!"
Bill Kimbell, CO

"...Marc, I cannot begin to express my gratitude to you for creating such an incredible learning Mecca for all of us. You have truly changed my life for the better! The level of quality and service that you have set is something that we all strive to achieve in our everyday life and work."
Billy McClain, NC

"...I wanted to thank you for the eye-opening week I just spent with you. The entire program was truly excellent and surpassed any expectations I had previously held. Clearly, I have a long and daunting road ahead, but with the help of you and your superb staff, I just may get there. Either way, I am certain that getting there will be half the fun. Thanks again!!!"
Douglas Benson, FL

"...Dad and I look forward each year to our time together at your school. These times are priceless and memories that I will always cherish. We are already talking about next year..."
Dr. Michael Ervin, SC

John Martinez, CA

"...I came here nervous and with lots of doubts as to whether I would have fun or not, but I have to say the experience became one of my best experiences of my life. It was truly enjoyable, educational, and fantastic."
Shoko Janssen, IL

"...This was one of the greatest weeks of fun and learning I have ever had.”
Rabbi Jon Adland, IN

"...Patty and I truly enjoyed attending your cabinetmaking class last week. Everything about your facility, staff and training is truly first class. Looking forward to attending next summer as well. Thanks for everything."
Larry Wiley, MI

"...The ladies who feed us sure make the break times and meal times nice. They are a sweet reflection of what I suspect is an inner grace that comes from a personal relationship with Christ. It’s nice to see Him shine in your whole program. Bless you."
John Story, SC

"...I feel that my time at the school since 1999 has not only been a vacation a few times a year, but in a small way sort of a visit with my extended family. I work harder at the school than I do at my real job. Even with the high volume of students flowing in you always have time for small talk and make everyone feel welcome."
Rick White, CA

"...Just a word to let you know how much I enjoyed class last week. What a wealth of knowledge! Once again I thoroughly enjoyed the week and your staff always makes me feel right at home..."
Greg Robbins, MI

"...It has been a hard year on American businesses and from what I gather, has affected even MASW. Having just completed both a Masters and an apprenticeship at the school, I can say that the economy has not affected either your vision or the level of commitment I found at your school. Sometimes downturns in the economy cause downturns in general effect. I didn’t see a single instance of you cutting back on the level of customer care, quality of instruction, or general enthusiasm. So, I am writing a word of encouragement. The engine of your success is the way you care about your students, the level of satisfaction you try to provide, and perfection you try to give to everything you do. Those qualities will get us all through this economy. Your team, Marc, is one of the very best I have ever known. I am amazed—amazed—at the fund of goodwill they demonstrate. They are just incredible. And that’s just the staff. Your instructors have that same commitment to caring and generosity that you do. It is a wonderful team to have. I have two master’s degrees already, but the one I got from MASW last week is by far the most important to me personally. I am very proud to be your student and to be associated with your school..."
David Wantz, IN

"It was my first time at the school and I was truly impressed with everything. The facility, tools, and staff are all first rate! I’m looking forward to seeing the schedule for next year as I would like to return for another class. Thanks again."
Greg Just, MN

"...Thanks to your great school, the class was the best woodworking class I have ever taken..."
Dr. Jim Johnston, CA

"...I never leave your school without having learned something, without making new friends, without having fun, and even gaining a few pounds. Your school has become an integral part of my life. I have already started counting down the time toward next year’s class."
Harry Aristidou, NY

"...Marc, you have created a woodworkers ‘Field of Dreams’ in the cornfields of Indiana. You have a great physical plant, housing, and array of top of the line equipment. You bring in world-class instructors from across the globe to teach your curriculum. Your in-house assistants, Zane, Doug, Jeff, Don, and Herman, are very knowledgeable in their craft and go out of their way to help each student. Your support staff of Susie, Paula, and Karen is unexcelled in administration or in the kitchen. This is a very special place, allowing woodworkers of varying knowledge and ability to increase their skill levels."
John Soucheck, FL

"I really enjoyed teaching at your school—it was one of the best classes I’ve ever had, and your school facilities have got to be the best in the nation, if not the world. I’ve seen none better."
Rick Butz, NY

Bill Wheeler, KY

"...Marc, last week I had the best time. Like a lot of other people, this was the first woodworking class I’ve had since high school. It will not be my last at Marc Adams! Everything (food, facility, staff support, and instruction) was top notch."

"...Marc, thank you for opening up your home and facility for me to learn from the best instructors of today’s time."
Walt Myers, OH

"...What more can be said about the week that was awesome, terrifying, exhilarating, challenging, pivotal, and insightful? Who could have thought there was more to come to round it out? I said to you when we left that you taught to the highest level and that was wonderful—to see where to go. To do that you must know where you are."
Dr. Jean Marmoreo, Canada

"...I want to thank you for teaching me the things I need to know to go from a house remodeler to a wannabe furniture maker. I will have the skills to back it up. This class marks a turning point in my woodworking odyssey."
